Experiences, Opportunities & '11 Before 11'
We believe that childhood should be full of adventure, creativity, challenge and joy. Our Experiences, Opportunities & 11 Before 11 Passport sets out the memorable moments, meaningful challenges and wider opportunities that we aim for every child to enjoy from Reception through to Year 6.
From visiting castles and beaches to travelling on a canal barge, performing on stage, exploring the woods, cooking, debating, hiking, voting in school elections and learning life-saving skills — our children do far more than simply follow a curriculum. They live it.
Each class has its own carefully planned experiences that build confidence, independence and curiosity year by year. Whether it’s building a den in Robins, taking part in a Roman banquet in Chaffinches, navigating with an OS map in Woodpeckers, or writing and delivering a speech in Owls, every opportunity is designed to help children grow in courage, wisdom and perseverance.
Alongside this, our 11 Before 11 are the moments that are extra special to us as a school community — the experiences we believe every child should have before they leave for secondary school. From singing around a campfire and meeting an author, to raising money for charity and looking up at the stars on a clear night, these shared milestones create lasting memories and shape character.
Rooted in our Christian vision — “I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13) — our passport reflects the values we hold dear: Respect, Compassion, Perseverance, Joy, Wisdom and Courage.
This is more than a checklist.
It is a journey.
It is childhood — full of wonder, challenge and joy.
