🌳 Sycamore Family Group – Wisdom & Respect (Yellow)
Sycamore reminds us to keep growing and learning every day.

Cedar reminds us to stand tall and strong in every season.

🍁 Maple Family Group – Compassion & Joy (Red)
Maple reminds us to spread warmth and love wherever you go.

How Our Family Groups Work
Here at Urchfont School, we are proud of our Family Group System, which creates a strong sense of community and belonging:
- Three Family Groups: Sycamore (Yellow), Cedar (Green), Maple (Red)
- Siblings stay in the same Family Group, strengthening our family ethos.
- Merits are awarded throughout the day, recognising the whole child – effort, progress, kindness, creativity, teamwork, independence, and our school values.
- End of term Celebration Assembly: The Family Group with the most merits wins the Family Group Cup. Children with the most merits in their class receive certificates and enjoy hot chocolate and biscuits.
- Family Group Days: Children from Reception to Year 6 collaborate on challenges linked to the curriculum, promoting teamwork and leadership across ages.
- Sports Day: Children compete in their Family Group teams.
- Family Group Coloured T-shirts: These are worn at all family group events.
Through our Family Groups, we nurture teamwork, celebrate success, and ensure every child feels valued, supported, and proud to be part of Urchfont School.
